General FAQs

The vast majority of customers use satellite phones for emergency use. Unfortunately, satellite networks require subscription fees to fund network operations. While your monthly or annual subscription fees pay for your ongoing connection to the network, we offer flexible minute plans with roll-over so your airtime will always be there when you need it. Alternatively, you can purchase a Basic Prepaid Card which does not have service plan fees. However, please note that these cards have expiration dates and a refill must be purchased prior to expiration to continue your service and roll-over your existing airtime. Roll-over limits apply with Basic Prepaid Cards but not with Annual or Monthly service plans.

Some satellite phone networks offer global coverage while others offer regional coverage. Please call our sales department for an in-depth comparison of your satellite phone options. Additionally, satellite phones are a line of sight technology and require an open view of the sky in order to make and receive calls as well as transmit data.

Under normal circumstances, we offer will-call pickups at reception and rental returns to our drop box. Due to current Covid-19 protocols, will call pickups are temporarily suspended. However, drop offs to our drop box at 231 Market Place, Box 415, San Ramon, CA 94583 are still available. Please contact customer service for drop off instructions and hours of operation.
